Moore Family Follow Up

It is a real tragedy when people are trying to do the right thing and fate crosses path's. Brandon was a sober driver and his fate came too early in life. Alcohol and driving NEVER mix, which is why this is so sad. Being that the teens were being responsible and having a designated driver makes it so much more tragic. My heart goes out to my Northwest friends and families of these boy's. I will be donating autographed personal memorabilia to their auction. I have collected drum sticks and merch throughout the years and can think of NO BETTER USE for them than to let it bring joy to the collector and much needed funds for the families affected by this tragedy. Please, this holiday season, be extra careful when out and about. Ice, rain, traffic, and  DUI's cost so many, so much.

Love, Bud.

There comes a time in every artists life's
There comes a time in every artists life's when they say to themselves, "Why do I attempt to play music and make a living at it? Wouldn't it just be easier to work at the post office?" But then, this little voice comes in that says, "I make music because it's what I love, it's all I know, and it's what the people want..." (Well, for SOME artists, anyhow.)
And then there are those who work in the business side of music, who see the artists and music as simply an object, as dollar signs, they only see music as a way to achieve power, money, fame, that's all it is to them. And those types of people are the ones responsible for putting the shittiest of the shit music on the radio, on MTV, they are responsible for keeping artists strung out because it means they can control them and use them- poor Michael Jackson is the perfect point in case.
Now we're not saying that people over at oh say Silverback would be those types of people, but what we are saying is that Silverback does not want Eric and Bud to play the music they created together anymore, and would love to derail the whole thing. Forget that Bud and Eric are not only happy and no longer strung out (thanks to Jamie and Level 7 managemet Cheez and Andy you're the best), but they are ready to create again because that's what they love and all they know how to do.  Silverback will not be getting a piece as they have taken so much from Bud, Eric, and Troy/Jake already (in our opinion, of course.)
If it upsets you that a management firm, a suit & tie operation is attempting to destroy Bud and Eric's reunion, maybe write them personally and ask them why they would want that. Ask them to give a good excuse as why Brad's music shouldn't have the chance to live on, why Jakob shouldn't have the opportunity to be set for life as his fathers legacy along with the rest of the band have rightfully secured this for him. Send good ole Jon Phillips and Blaine Kaplan an email asking these important questions & demanding answers.

Notes from Bud

Sep. 3, 2009
Howdy, Bud here. Just wanted to tell you all thanks for the support over the years, Eric and I are stoked to be working together again and mostly thankful to have the new & competent management who brought everything back together. Rome is a great kid and a great talent, no one will ever replace Brad and that's not what we're going for. Sublime w/Rome is going to be a new venture and will give our music the ability to live on while making a positive change in people's lives through our various organizations we're setting up in Brad's memory.
There hasn't been any "official" press release yet, this is just me telling you all first hand what's up. We're so thankful for all our fans & want you to hear it straight from us. The news would be coming from the Sublime myspace but certain people (Silverback management) have jacked it and will not allow the band members access to it. So go ahead and come over to budgaugh.com & Del Mar's myspace for the lowdown instead.
Also, for any butt-hurt, entitled industry idiots who work over at Empty-V news- because of yesterdays article you posted (without research & beyond inaccurate), now you will not be getting any exclusive statement's from us. You do not play music video's or have anything to do with music anymore anyhow, you are musically and culturally irrelevant and to quote our good friend Ino Gregory Tanner,"you are an insignificant chunk of puffed up blowfish shit!"
Anyway didn't want to go on a negative rant- these are all great things happening and we're way stoked to see you all on the road again.
Peace and love,
-Bud

Notes from Bud
Hi everybody- I quit my dumb job so now I have more time to spend on the computer LOL. Seriously though I'll be spending more time blogging & keeping you updated, lots of shit to talk about as of late.
This last Saturday (Feb 28) was a blast, I really enjoyed playing music with Eric again. Can't get into details yet as to what's up but I will keep you posted. Check back here often for updates, gettin ready to post some exclusive video & pics of the show with Rome. Lots of great feedback and the crowd energy was amazing, thanks to all who made it out. FYI Don't bother trying to get info out of Silverback, they know nothing as they are NOT representing me or Eric.
Also Del Mar was on fire! We made EMPTY-V music news (MTV for you retards out there) all DIY. F the man. Del Mar's first album After the Quake record release party's May 2nd at Vixen in Sparks, NV. Reno is so close to hell you can see Sparks. No lie. Be there and catch something you don't need penicillin for!
And to all the haters out there- you should knock that shit off. Hate causes impotence, male pattern baldness, shingles, incontinence, cancer...

Updates

Budgaugh.com is getting ready to undertake a major overhaul with several new updates. Please be patient, it will be bitchin. And keep sending any rare Sublime, LBDA, Eyes Adrift pictures or whateva here to contribute to the site.

Open Letter to Fans

To All Sublime, LBDA, Eyes Adrift Fans:

First of all, I'd like to say the fans have always been the most important ingredient to our success and to the SUBLIME legacy. Without you all, none of us would have been able to make this journey, we learned this early in our career and this is why you'd always find us sitting on the edge of the stage, shooting the shit with the fans, getting to know you all.

Due to the lack of label & management competence, I want to apologize for not having an official Sublime website up, or for not having any type of connection with you all within the last few years. The fans were never forgotten and we are working diligently to fix this- thus budgaugh.com has launched. I want to personally thank all the various fan sites out there for keeping the love alive- special thanks to the archive and Skunk.com.

Due to great failures by the label and management I have launched this website which I will be personally involved with running and maintaining. I will be around to blog as much as possible, when I'm not on wrenching on my rides or on the road with my new surf/punk band Del Mar.

I greatly appreciate any & all feedback & if you have any cool shit that would contribute to this website (videos, pictures, bootlegs, whateva) we could really use it. It's important to fans to hear about great experiences not just from the band's point-of-view, but the fans' experiences as well- this is what keeps the legacy thriving.

Much Peace & Love Always,
Bud
